Morning all UK F5B’ers,

This event has come round really quickly after Barkston!   We are going to be at Garstang on the 7/8 August.

7th for practice - Aim is to have the practice course setup and ready to fly from 13:00.

8th event - 4 rounds with flights starting close to 10am.

We will be charging £10 per pilot for the practice day and £15 per pilot for competition entry. Please pay this to Alan Flockhart via paypal@....

If you can let me know who will be attending before Wednesday and pay the entry fees that would be great.

Lets get more PB’s on the board!

Cheers

Alan

Morning All,

Trust you all survived the scorching heat at the weekend :).   Fingers crossed it isn’t quite as toasty on Sunday but stays dry at least!!

Barkston site fees are £100 - I think there are 6 of us down to fly. Can we make the entry fee £17 each please.   paypal@...

In terms of site entry - As far as I know currently they use the Nats camping gate (not the one we used to use years ago).   Will send more details later in the week but expecting an 830 or 900 entry time.

Cheers

Chaps do not break any lights !! You have to pay direct to the RAF for them now and claim it back from the Bmfa! 😁
I hope to drop down for a couple of goes during the day.

Cheers

Evening currently got 3 paid entries for Barkston.    Weather is looking a ton better than it was at the beginning of the week :)

Can I suggest 08:45 at the camping entry gate.   Paul B can let us in.   We are ok to fly where we used to years ago, so just a very short drive to there.    Tony, Jos as you have the furthest drives give us a call when you get close and we can pop back to open the gate for you.

We should be able to have the course up by 9:15 and get practicing.

** Jos remember there are runway lights in place :) **

See you all Sunday!

Cheers

Alan

Wee map.   Camping gate is I guess what they call the Southern Access area (red line).   We used to access on the East side.

F5B will be roughly at the yellow line.    I vaguely recall there was a mast somewhere in the middle of the runways but it was a long way off.

I know pylon are on the field somewhere and I presume the local model club as well.

Evening All,

Before we confirm an 8th August event at Garstang could those able to attend please let me know. Wanting to check we have enough numbers before booking in with the farmer.

Given the grass was cut last event ~3 weeks ago I would doubt it will be short again in August. The farmer takes a hay crop from it hence I guess 90% chance we would be based along the runway.

Cheers
